Don't touch my kids

Dear Creepy Old Fabric Store Guy,

My girls are cute, right? Thank you. But that doesn't give you permission to touch them. They are not merchandise on a shelf for you to hold and examine. They are my kids, don't touch them. They are not public property. Do you randomly just reach out and touch strangers? I didn't think so. So what makes you think that you can randomly reach out and touch a strangers children? Do not touch my kids. I'm serious.  Don't make me hurt you. Because I will.

- Mama Bear

I was in JoAnn Fabrics the other day trying to juggle a couple of bolts of felt (more on that later) when this older man comes up and just starts touching my daughters. He stroked Jenin's face and was holding Maysoon's hand.  I was trying to dump the bolts into the cart so that I can move my girls away from him. The problem is that Jenin was standing (even though I told her 32,875 times to sit down) in the already tiny cart and I couldn't figure out how to make room for her and the bolts. To make matters worse, the man was holding Maysoon's hand, then COUGHS the most wretched and vile cough into his hand, all while I'm thinking "he is not going to put his hand back on her after he coughed into it." But no, he did!!!  I became so frustrated that I ended up dropping the bolts on the floor and just moved the cart away from the man.  He was totally oblivious to the fact that I was about to rip off his arms.

I took my girls to safety (aka the cutting counter) and waited my turn.  As I was telling the woman how much fabric I needed, COFSG (see above) comes towards my cart again.  This time he was steps away when I quickly pulled down the carseat cover sheild thingy over Maysoon blocking him from getting to her. Then I quickly moved the cart and blocked Jenin.  Needless to say he took a hint and kept on walking.  I could hear the woman behind me whispering to the person with her.  "He just totally tried to touch her kids."  I was worried what they would think of me since they didn't know what had happened earlier. I turned to them and explained. They were totally weirded out by him too.  I was just so upset how someone could just think they are allowed to touch someone else's kids.

Vent over.
